Current Finance Chairman and members 

A well-planned budget is the first objective for the coming year. This ensures that there will be funds earmarked for all purposes necessary to participate in the various program throughout the year. A review should be done each month to make sure that the operating expenses are kept within the budget.
  • Units are encouraged to pay obligations early.
  • Decide upon a special ALA program of interest by your Unit or Council and sponsor it. Hold fundraisers for this program, have a raffle or a 50/50 drawing.  Suggested programs are VA&R, AEF, Girls State, President’s Project or Children & Youth.
  • Those members that receive expense vouchers are reminded to mail them in a timely manner to Finance Chairman

Yearly Taxes

Each year, Units must file taxes, which is required of charities. Units should file either a 990 or 990-EZ (e-Postcard).  E-Postcards are for those whose annual gross receipts are $50,000 or less. This is a requirement to retain our nonprofit organizational status.
