Juniors
Purpose: “To interest eligible young women (under the age of 18) in adult membership through positive experiences of mission-based volunteer opportunities that instill the ideals of the organization.” National POA
| Department Chairman: | Amy Lynn Waltz |
“If we don’t connect with our juniors and get them involved, our organization will become the extinct dinasaur archeologists look for.”
Junior members are the lifeblood of the future of our organization. They are the potential and upcoming Unit, Council, District and Department Presidents and the Chairmen of our programs. They are the leaders for the American Legion Auxiliary for tomorrow.
If a Unit does not have a Junior Unit, they are encouraged to start one. There is no limit to the size of the Junior Unit. Junior members are ages from birth to eighteen (18). Upon her eighteenth paying her membership dues, she automatically becomes a Senior member.

Objectives for the Junior Program
“Like a chunk of clay, we must mold them, we must guide them, we must support them and we must mentor them as they become the leaders of this great organization in the future, supporting our military and veterans.”
| 1. To encourage participation in service projects that serve our military, veterans and their families. |
|
2. To Promote the National President’s Scholarship by raising awareness of eligibility, rules and application process in the schools, communities and on military bases. |
| 3. To empower our Junior members by seeking their assistance to increase the use of technology (such as e-mail, Internet, Facebook, etc.) in promoting Auxiliary programs |
The Juniors of the American Legion Auxiliary have a Facebook page. All you need to do is add them as your friend. You can connect with Junior members from across the National organization.
