To develop, implement and monitor community service activities that aid veterans, active duty service members and their families.

Veteran Homelessness Prevention and response |

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
Community Service committees are impelled to work in cooperation with National Security committees in scheduling one Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Train. This training course readies Auxiliary members to function as an a resource for emergency management. Citizens can be certified and trained in such groups as Neighborhood Watch associations. Martin Luther King Jr Day of Service
It is a day where pople of all ages and backgrounds assemble together for the betterment of our nation. It is a national day of community service improving the lives of its citizens. The American Legion Auxiliary is urging Units to set Martin Luther King Jr day as a say to direct service to our veterans ans families of military deployed troops. Army’s Community Covenant Program
It is a initiative to exhibit support for military service personnel and their families during this wartime.
The National ALA organization would like to bring awareness of the Army’s Community Covenant Program and incite participation in ceremonies that honor our military and their families.
Units can collaborate with other service or community organizations in providing refreshments for festivities. Units can utilize their Post homes and grounds for the celebrations. Contacting all forms of the media is highly encourages.

Other Community Service Programs and Activities
Serving Communities and make a Difference- Auxiliary Units are asked to partner with other organizations. Identifying and addressing the needs of their communities to make a difference in their own “backyards.”
Promote Community Involvement- by reaching out to the communities, Auxiliary Units are a positive influence. They also bring awareness to the American Legion Auxiliary and our programs and activities. This allows the population to understand who we ar and what we do.
